Commentary on ACIM Lesson 202

©2010 Rev. David Seacord

I will be still an instant and go home.

There is nothing that God our Creator cannot heal. And there is nothing that God our Sustainer does not forgive, for He knows who I am, just as He know who you are too. The only question is: Do you and I know who each other are?

The answer is absolutely, Yes, but conditionally, No.

What I mean is that the true I and the true you do always know that in this life we live a great pretense that is 'not true', and in our core essence we know this.

Conditionality is of the ego, which is itself only an imaginary fantasy. It is like a dream that we are having that we do not want to awaken from, at least as long as we are having a good time Charlie rush from it. Egoic maturity is simply recognizing we overdid it, and we are over our head in pain producing, isolated, self-willed arrogance. It usually takes this to realize we would rather be a lot more humble, and connected, and in harmony with others.... whoever they are. Accepting whomever God places in our life as who is meant to be there is our initial demonstration of obedience to spirit.

This is why the first spiritual work is always self-forgiveness. For self-forgiveness purifies our heart, and allows us to see others--- whoever they are--- as just like us. This naturally arising compassion is the secret to communication, community, and communion with the All. There is no other source of lasting Joy but this wholeness, and thank God, it is ours as a birthright the instant we are willing to return our being to stillness, and enter the unlimited Love of God.

On a practical level, the effect of claiming our birthright from God is the direct sense of guidance, protection, and being blessed. In this world, that will produce miracles all around you in the lives of others, and of course, in our own lives too. Which is exactly why we are here.... to Be the Joy of God.

Namaste,

David

Lesson 202

I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.

(182) I will be still an instant and go home.

Why would I choose to stay an instant more where I do not
belong, when God Himself has given me His Voice to call
me home?

I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.
