Commentary on ACIM Lesson 325

What peace of mind is all about is having 'certainty'. And what having certainty is all about is clarity about what trumps what, just like in poker. And as in poker, there are poker rules, which is the agreement everybody is in in order to play that game.
This life can be viewed as a game too. For those who do, it's a game where we get to see how fast we can spin and not get dizzy. It's a game where we get to believe we can change the rules, make up new rules, even 'have no rules'. BUT, ultimately, it has to be acknowledged that to play the game we have to first 'exist', and that reveals that there IS a Reality that is superior to 'the game'. This is a big shock to us... usually because 'the game' is the only thing we knew....
But that Reality trumps the whole game. It sobers us up out of egoic intoxication. It calls us to be responsible for what is actually true. It asks us to set aside our trite and petty egoic concerns and become partners with its Reality. And when we do this, we always discover with a deep certainty that (1) we are not, and never were, alone, (2) we are here with an assignment that no one can do but us, (3) that Reality is always helping us in the fulfillment of our purpose, and (4) that no egoic pleasure even comes close to giving us the peace and happiness that serving Reality always provides.
Why this is so is simple. We were created as part of a total and perfect Creation. When we 'go egoic', we disappear from Creation and our place there is empty. That leaves both Creation and ourselves incomplete. What re-completes both Creation and ourselves? Simply an honest choice to return to the Love we had forgotten we were.
Namaste,
David

Lesson 325
All things I think I see reflect ideas.
This is salvation's keynote: What I see reflects a process in my mind, which starts with my idea of what I want. From there, the mind makes up an image of the thing the mind desires, judges valuable, and therefore seeks to find. These images are then projected outward, looked upon, esteemed as real and guarded as one's own. From insane wishes comes an insane world. From judgment comes a world condemned. And from forgiving thoughts a gentle world comes forth, with mercy for the holy Son of God, to offer him a kindly home where he can rest a while before he journeys on, and help his brothers walk ahead with him, and find the way to Heaven and to God.
Our Father, Your ideas reflect the truth, and mine apart from Yours but make up dreams. Let me behold what only Yours reflect, for Yours and Yours alone establish truth.
