Commentary on ACIM Lession 338

© 2010 Rev. David Seacord

Somewhere it has always been..... existing.... waiting.... For What? For our desire to awaken to Reality to grow strong enough to call for and welcome it. What is this 'it' I speak of? 'It' is the voice of our own inner knowing.

To see that we are affected only by our own thoughts takes us very close tangentially to another related realization: That why (we are affected only by our own thoughts) is because all that actually exists in this or any Reality is Thought. In other words, this entire universe (matrix) is completely resting upon one truth, and that truth is (ultimately) that there is nothing real that is not (physically. mentally, emotionally) an exact copy of the creative thought that must exist as its blueprint (for the physical, mental, or emotional 'reality' to follow).

In one way, all 'the spiritual path' is is learning to be responsible for the total impact of our own thinking upon both our own life, and also on the lives of those we have influence in. As we are willing to see, so shall we be given the eyes.

What we must become willing to see to be given the eyes is the Perfection of a Perfect Creation. That means 'everything fits, all things have a purpose, there are no accidents, and nothing is missing'. It's not really so hard to see it. The work is simply the practice of seeing with these Gods-view eyes without exception. And that will come in perfect timing also. Remember, only our ego that wants to get enlightened so that it can hang it on a wall as 'evidence' or 'proof'.

But since God knows us from the inside, no proof is ever needed nor asked. And the only proof God really would like to see from us is 'our fruit'.... ie, our mission fulfilled. That, as Gangaji has said, would simply be 'a life well lived'.

Namaste,

David

Lesson 338

I am affected only by my thoughts.

It needs but this to let salvation come to all the world. For in this single thought is everyone released at last from fear. Now has he learned that no one frightens him, and nothing can endanger him. He has no enemies, and he is safe from all external things. His thoughts can frighten him, but since these thoughts belong to him alone, he has the power to change them and exchange each fear thought for a happy thought of love. He crucified himself. Yet God has planned that His beloved Son will be redeemed.

Your plan is sure, my Father,—only Yours. All other plans will fail. And I will have thoughts that will frighten me, until I learn that You have given me the only Thought that leads me to salvation. Mine alone will fail, and lead me nowhere. But the Thought You gave me promises to lead me home, because it holds Your promise to Your Son.
