Commentary on ACIM Lesson 330

Ah.... yes, "if we suffer, we are failing to know our true Identity", for to that Identity, no suffering is possible.
Does that seem a real possibility? If your answer is 'yes', even if the 'yes' has been your experience in time-moments measuring only fractions of a second, I would say: "Count yourself blessed". For all we need do to see how rare even that brief opening is is just step into the speeding civilization surrounding us and look to see who else 'knows'.
I remember Byron Katie mentioning in one of her talks that 'when I woke up, I was a housewife in Barstow (CA) with no spiritual background. Then people started showing up at my door and saying 'Namaste', so I let them in. I thought they were saying 'No mistakes', so of course I let them in. I didn't think (then) that anybody elseknew.'
Still, here is the truth.... Everybody else knows.... but the ego's game is to not let anybody else know you know. That's called feigning ignorance to escape responsibility. While it is the norm of our culture, it is highly disempowering to all souls that practice it. For it is an expression of the belief that we (you and I) are insufficient to the mission we and God together have agreed is the path of our most potent learning curriculum in this life.
Let us choose instead our true purpose. How to know it is not that difficult, for whatever it's form, it will clearly lead us straight to our 'greatest fear', and then, like a miracle, through it and beyond it to a vantage point where what was stopping us is now something we simply see was never real.
What I am saying is the result of choosing to face our fears is that they disappear. We simply recognize believing in our fear voices was the only mistake we ever really made.
Namaste,
David

Lesson 330
I will not hurt myself again today.
Let us this day accept forgiveness as our only function. Why should we attack our minds, and give them images of pain? Why should we teach them they are powerless, when God holds out His power and His Love, and bids them take what is already theirs? The mind that is made willing to accept God's gifts has been restored to spirit, and extends its freedom and its joy, as is the Will of God united with its own. The Self which God created cannot sin, and therefore cannot suffer. Let us choose today that He be our Identity, and thus escape forever from all things the dream of fear appears to offer us.
Father, Your Son can not be hurt. And if we think we suffer, we but fail to know our one Identity we share with You. We would return to It today, to be made free forever from all our mistakes, and to be saved from what we thought we were.
