Commentary on ACIM Lesson 327

© 2010 Rev. David Seacord

Yes God, let me learn from my experience all that I am able about Love, until I am ready to receive an even more direct communication. For as the introduction to this Course has said, "The meaning of Love is beyond what can be taught... and the purpose of this Course is simply to remove our blocks to the awareness of loves presence". That is what I can gain from the path of experience.... the sure and certain conviction that Love IS Always present. And with that conviction, what becomes possible is to never forget that (since Love is always present) Love is available to be called upon in any time of need.

It is this that I see I often still fail to to. Why? I am sure because I choose to step back into my habituated self-constructed identity, and once there, a cloudy fog brings a sense of doubt (or worse) into my mind. Usually then what wakes me back up is some kind of heart-based self-violation.... you know, doing or saying something that embarrasses or shocks me awake again. It's an old pattern, and one I am making progress with, at least enough to be unashamed to expose it.

Exposing ourselves is a wonderful practice, you know... it teaches us that to be vulnerable is our true strength, and that it is what we think of ourself in our heart-core (the 'God-mind') that is who we actually are. Still, it is not easy to always do when we would like to.... so when we fail, well, there is the next great and wonderful practice, which is 'apologizing'. It's wonderful also that most of us learned about these practices in kindergarden, before we became bully-hardened egos. As all things come back around, we find our adult egos naturally preparing for our second round of kindergarden 'coursework' as our interest in spirituality grows. Once again, no accidents.

The goal of it all? All experience can only lead to one end. That end is knowing ourselves as holy, and having no fear or ego posture about it being seen. For the sweetest thing about seeing and accepting the holiness within oneself is knowing that whoever sees you... they are equally holy also.

Namaste,

David

Lesson 327

I need but call and You will answer me.

I am not asked to take salvation on the basis of an unsupported faith. For God has promised He will hear my call, and answer me Himself. Let me but learn from my experience that this is true, and faith in Him must surely come to me. This is the faith that will endure, and take me farther and still farther on the road that leads to Him. For thus I will be sure that He has not abandoned me and loves me still, awaiting but my call to give me all the help I need to come to Him.

Father, I thank You that Your promises will never fail in my experience, if I but test them out. Let me attempt therefore to try them, and to judge them not. Your Word is one with You. You give the means whereby conviction comes, and surety of Your abiding Love is gained at last.
