Commentary on ACIM Lesson 222

© 2010 Rev. David Seacord

God is with me. I live and move in Him.

In all honesty, I have few 'words of wisdom' to offer today. Reporting personally, I have been moving through a turbulent process of surrendering to legal realities (around the issue of the potentially very costly traffic ticket I received yesterday) that are intensely painful to my ego. At this moment, I am at peace about it, and have been making, for the benefit of my future judgement, a list of 'community service skills' I could offer. God's Love is with me, and I know this will all pass. Today though, I have been very challenged just dealing with myself and my rebellious attitude and legal beliefs I hold about my right to freedom from 'the authorities I live under'. I spent the day writing potential defense arguments only to find (on later research) that I am 'out of date' legally and all my arguments have been struck down in previous court decisions and can no longer be effectively raised. That was exhausting. But my success was, as I peacefully wrote and researched, I was not angry, and I did remember all men are my brothers, even if I disagree with them legally. So that was progress in the right direction, as is my hopefulness that I can work this out non-financially through community service, which I realized I would probably throughly enjoy doing.... want to see my list so far?

provide free indigent funerals

provide folk concerts at nursing homes

crisis hotline volunteering

give art classes to _____?

teach nutrition to ______?

'ride-a-long' with police and serve as a Rev. as needed....etc.....

I appreciate the blessings of your thoughts and energies. Also, the lesson is short, and a good one. Don't skip it. :-)

Namaste,

David

Lesson 222

God is with me. I live and move in Him.

God is with me. He is my Source of life, the life within, the air I breathe, the food by which I am sustained, the water which renews and cleanses me. He is my home, wherein I live and move; the Spirit which directs my actions, offers me Its Thoughts, and guarantees my safety from all pain. He covers me with kindness and with care, and holds in love the Son He shines upon, who also shines on Him. How still is he who knows the truth of what He speaks today!

Father, we have no words except Your Name upon our lips and in our minds, as we come quietly into Your Presence now, and ask to rest with You in peace a while.
