Commentary on ACIM Lesson 220
©2010 Rev. David Seacord
There is no peace except the peace of God.
This is all that we really need to remember, ever.... that God IS, and thus, peace IS also.
By mankind this state is called 'God-intoxicated', which is somewhat humorous when clearly considered, as 'intoxicated' means 'to be poisoned' or 'drunk', as in the idea that toxins are present in the blood which prevent clear judgement from existing. All this reveals is that the cultural view (which is equal to the egoic/body view) perceives a being who lives and breathes and drinks 'of God everywhere' as a being who cannot see things as they are, with clarity.
Nothing could be more false, as the exact opposite is the truth. Only by viewing life through the eyes of God is it possible to see things as they are, with clarity. Only by seeing the unfolding of life through the eyes of God can life be understood and make sense at all. And only when life is deeply understood as 'the play of God' is personal peace possible.
All this arises from remembering that God IS..... all this, and 'the peace of God'.
Namaste,
David

Lesson 220
I am not a body. I am free,
For I am still as God created me.
(200) There is no peace except the peace of God.
Let me not wander from the way of peace, for I am lost on
other roads than this. But let me follow Him Who leads me
home, and peace is certain as the Love of God.
I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.
