Commentary on ACIM Lession 292

© 2010 Rev. David Seacord

A happy outcome to all things is sure.

I smiled when I opened up the lesson, as yep, once again, right on target it was.

This morning as I awoke it was into the thought: "Let the memory of God awaken in me today"..... That thought, and many related to it, have been my friends today as I have gone about the business of requesting a number of major national art institutions to take my art under consideration, and perhaps send a curator to my show. It's a lot of phone work just to find a way to send an email to a real curatorial person who has agreed they will receive it. I've been thanking God for opening the way all day...

Between these calls, I found myself imagining who I might 'be' if the full memory of God was awake in me. Would I be afraid? How could I be? And of what? Would I have powers? Perhaps, but that is clearly not the point, as spiritual powers can be misused, but a purified heart cannot. Eventually I saw I would simply know something..... in a way that would never again be in doubt: I would know that apart from God I have no existence. I would know that apart from God you have none either. I would know that I and you are like the leaves of a golden eternal Godtree... each with our separate location on twig or branch yes, but season after season, sourced by and fed life by the same trunk and roots.

Of course, the analogy does not expand enough to include the universality of our Mother/Father/Divine Source, but it is useful to help generate a vision of our relatedness. And that is our curriculum on this planet, and the possibility of its salvation/transformation.... to simply and without exceptions, never to deny our brotherhood/sisterhood/oneness/unity.

How then could not all outcomes be happy?

Namaste,

David

Lesson 292

A happy outcome to all things is sure.

God's promises make no exceptions. And He guarantees that only joy can be the final outcome found for everything. Yet it is up to us when this is reached; how long we let an alien will appear to be opposing His. And while we think this will is real, we will not find the end He has appointed as the outcome of all problems we perceive, all trials we see, and every situation that we meet. Yet is the ending certain. For God's Will is done in earth and Heaven. We will seek and we will find according to His Will, which guarantees that our will is done.

We thank You, Father, for Your guarantee of only happy outcomes in the end. Help us not interfere, and so delay the happy endings You have promised us for every problem that we can perceive; for every trial we think we still must meet.
