Commentary on ACIM Lesson 247

Without forgiveness I will still be blind.

God, what a perfect lesson for today and for me. As I worked most of the day making frames for some the paintings I am getting ready to show soon, I had plenty of freedom in my mind. And today, my mind was blessed by it's visions. While it stayed in the legal arena, I was hearing radical possibilities. It began to occur to me that I was going into 'the law zone' as a healer, perhaps in the disguise of 'a defendant', but really as someone who had nothing to defend. I saw that 'to defend' is actually 'to attack', and that that is never God's true Will.

And like I used to watch in my ex-partner as she wrote her plays so full of witty dialogue that she would crack up repeatedly as she wrote, I too cracked up many times today as I imagined myself being a Voice for God in my future courtroom. And you know the thing that was the coolest vision? It was me apologizing to the brothermancop for believing in the world of fear, and responding to him that way. Which (in my imagination) healed the rift to such a degree that the brothermancop choose to withdraw his citation accusal and the judge dismissed the case, and then I introduced them both to ACIM.....

There was lots more, as the mind flows incessantly. But the big thing was I dropped out of having an enemy to battle... now I only have a brother to heal. Perfect job for a lightworker named David.

Went into town tonight to practice singing one of my songs that I am going to perform as a duet with Cloyce Hilsinger, the local opera-trained singer, on Sunday. It was great fun mixing his full-bellied vibrato with my John Denverish clear tones. But it was the song we are practicing that I got as 'perfect'. I wrote it back in the early 1980's after doing one of the earlier ACIM lessons. Dig the lyrics... way simple, but right on target:

There are no Strangers in this Creation.

There are no Dangers in this Perfect Love.

There is no Doubt, or Fear, in this direction....

There's only the Joy, and the Love of the One.

Lesson 247

Without forgiveness I will still be blind.

Sin is the symbol of attack. Behold it anywhere, and I will suffer. For forgiveness is the only means whereby Christ's vision comes to me. Let me accept what His sight shows me as the simple truth, and I am healed completely. Brother, come and let me look on you. Your loveliness reflects my own. Your sinlessness is mine. You stand forgiven, and I stand with you.

So would I look on everyone today. My brothers are Your Sons. Your Fatherhood created them, and gave them all to me as part of You, and my own Self as well. Today I honor You through them, and thus I hope this day to recognize my Self.
