Commentary on ACIM Lesson 244

I am in danger nowhere in the world.

In God we are secure. That means whatever we are experiencing, we are STILL secure. So let the illusions rock 'n roll.... we are STILL secure. Screw up bigtime, stick foot in mouth, be a blabber loose lips, stand exposed to ridicule for being socially clueless.... any and all of it changes nothing in our true relationship with God. In fact, all if it is really simply the testing-by-fire to see if we have 'gotten it'. And when we have gotten it at one level, we graduate to the next, and get tested again.

None of this is about God being mean to us at all. It is actually so that we can fully enter Self Love. And know true compassion. I say that because if we really got that nobody gets to skip a single step of the curriculum, we would get our total equality, and we could see everybody has the same humanity as we do. Any differences are only temporary, and you can bet that someday the shoe will fit us too.

How beautiful to let the judging go.... especially the self-judging. I did use the lower case 's' intentionally, as the Self is unjudgible. But the 'self', being an illusion of the ego, screams to be judged, for that reinforces the illusion of it's reality. These screams are called (in Landmark) 'rackets'. And they are a very important distinction to have in this life. So I do, just like recommending a book, recommend Landmark experiences as valuable. It's just the truth that they have been for me.

But moving on, back to our fundamental security, God. By whatever name. The giver, the sustainer, the compassionate, the merciful, the most holy, the beautiful, the destroyer, the creator, the beloved, the unity of being, the spirit of life itself....and, the source of true security.... these all only hint at the unspeakable limitless nature of our Infinite Source.

Even with only hints, radical rediscovery of beingness is inevitable. Therefore let us pass through this day remembering we are mightily blessed.

Lesson 244

I am in danger nowhere in the world.

Your Son is safe wherever he may be, for You are there with him. He need but call upon Your Name, and he will recollect his safety and Your Love, for they are one. How can he fear or doubt or fail to know he cannot suffer, be endangered, or experience unhappiness, when he belongs to You, beloved and loving, in the safety of Your Fatherly embrace?

And there we are in truth. No storms can come into the hallowed haven of our home. In God we are secure. For what can come to threaten God Himself, or make afraid what will forever be a part of Him?
