Commentary on ACIM Lesson 266

© 2010 Rev. David Seacord

My holy Self abides in you, God's Son.

Today's 'jump at me' line from the lesson is "Let not Your Son forget his holy source".....

My heart read it as "God, let not this Your Son forget his holy source". For I recognize 'the game' is about to go into a much higher gear. We are hanging my art show over the next few days. As I unbox/unpack one after another of my beloved paintings, and stand before them thrilled to see them all being hung in a huge, elegant show, I can feel my 'business side/ famous artist promoter' coming to life. That is something a of balancing dance to walk, as I know we are all 'nobody special', yet my ego drive to share the art looks at 'being somebody' as necessary for success.

Back a few years, when Sarah and I were living together and often struggling with relationship issues, we bought and wore wedding rings to keep us(me) straight. I felt 'protected' by the ring, as, even if my energy might be sending one message out, my ring finger, with my conscious permission, was neutralizing it.

So the interesting thing for me now is that in following my guidance and going public as 'Reverend' and all that, it is kind of like the ring, as an ego protection.... like today a person approached me (the gallery is open so the hanging of the show is a publicly viewable thing) and we spent a while talking about the art and my promoter side could see he was becoming pretty impressed, but then suddenly he asks me 'Well, what does this mean?" pointing to the Rev. in front of my name.

And like a wake up bell, who I really am as a son of God came front and center, and the art promoter disappeared. Thank you God, and please let not this Your Son forget his holy source! That was my gratitude in that moment for being blessed with such a clear reminder of my true purpose. And as I spoke more with the brother, it shifted toward 'communion', which is who I am and you are in reality.... we are beings sent here to answer the call of those ready to find the way out of human suffering, through learning to walk the ways of Divine Love.

When in doubt, just remember: No accidents ever.

Namaste,

David
