Commentary on ACIM Lesson 267
© 2010 Rev. David Seacord
My heart is beating in the peace of God.
Sometimes it is very good to be reminded of the nearly obvious, as in today's lesson. The Biblical King David was a writer of beautiful prose, a lot of it found in the Book of Psalms. His most well-known one is Psalms 23, usually referred to as 'The Shepherd's Psalm'. To trigger your Sunday School memories (if you have them), it starts out "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
Turns out the Jesus, ghost writing this Course in Miracles through Helen Schucman, knows how to turn a phrase too... this days lesson hits my heart like a psalm of affirmation and the promise of clear remembrance of our true nature. I can see myself sitting on a mountaintop rock with a huge view into the distance, repeating the words of todays lesson again and again, letting my heart KNOW I am this.
As I see it, the core affirmation is this: I am a messenger of God, directed by His Voice, sustained by Him in love, and held forever quiet and at peace within His loving Arms.
My suggestion is that it's worth memorizing, and using a good many times a day.
Namaste,
David
