Commentary inspired by ACIM Lesson 16
© 2010 Rev. David Seacord

I have no neutral thoughts.

This lesson asks us to be responsible for our thinking in ways and at levels that are shocking to our habitual identities. How willing we are willing to be in this determines whether we live in love or fear. It is a continuum that requires great courage to even begin to contemplate with honesty. Our natural intimate friendship with 'the Beloved', the Source of our Being, is our truest compass and our best access to strength as we look into the mirror of our heart and begin to develop and deepen authentic self-honesty. We have, as always, the choice to deny our greatness (our Oneness) in deference to staying in the illusion of powerlessness (our separateness). Our lesson today requests that we recognize that we are not ever neutrally creative. By existing, we are contributive. Our world will arise as a result of our thinking. That it can be very full of emptiness is self-obvious, very prevalent, and the norm of humanity. The Great Love allows this, knowing all separated ones will, in time, choose to be done with insanity. The Course teaches that this is the actual purpose of time, to choose again Love, no matter what. Again, and again, and again, without end. This choosing of Love creates undisturbable wholeness. Moment by moment, choosing Love is walking 'the Great Way'.

Namaste,

David
